Pursuit Involving Stolen Vehicle Ends in Deadly Crash on East 7th Street in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (March 20, 2024) – A 15-year-old girl was killed in a stolen vehicle pursuit at East 7th Street and Orange Avenue in Long Beach on March 8.
 
According to the Long Beach Police Department, a stolen vehicle was heading westbound on 7th Street at a high rate of speed when it crashed into another vehicle at the intersection with Orange Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. It then lost control and collided with five other parked vehicles.
 
After the crash, the driver of the stolen vehicle fled the scene on foot.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the 15-year-old female passenger in the stolen vehicle to a hospital with multiple life-threatening injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the other driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
 
On March 13, the passenger was declared dead.
 
Information on the suspect and whether any arrests have been made was not immediately available. An investigation is underway.
