PLACERVILLE, CA (February 10, 2022) – A 14-year-old girl died in a hit-and-run crash on Carson Road in Placerville on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened a little after 4:00 p.m. on February 8, just east of Barkley Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the teen was walking along Carson Road when a newer model white Honda CR-V struck her.
 
Officers arrived soon after and pronounced the girl dead at the scene.
 
The involved driver did not stop to render aid. The vehicle is believed to have front bumper and windshield damage to the passenger side from hitting the girl. It was last seen driving westbound on Carson Road.

At this time, an investigation into this fatal crash is underway. The CHP asked anyone with information is asked to call the California Highway Patrol at 916-861-1300.
