WILLITS, CA (January 11, 2023) — A 12-year-old girl suffered injuries in a pedestrian crash on Main Street on Tuesday, January 10.

The incident happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. when a 12-year-old girl ran across Willits’ Main Street as she was about to meet a friend. Then a vehicle hit her.

According to Willits Police Chief Fabian Lizarraga, the girl was on the west side of Main Street near the famous Willits’ Arch. Then she ran into the northbound lane. A car traveling around 10 miles/hour hit her and knocked her to the ground.

Chief Lizarraga said the impact of the incident forced the girl to roll underneath another vehicle that did not hit her.

Medics rushed the girl to Howard Memorial for treatment.
