1 Person Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Multi-Car Crash near University Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (July 21, 2023) — One person suffered an injury in a hit-and-run multi-car accident near University Avenue and the 215 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car collision happened around 4:15 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a driver in an SUV struck a Honda Civic, another sedan and an SUV before fleeing the scene.
 
The suspect might have hopped off the freeway and driven onto the surface street after.
 
Moments later, Riverside Fire Department paramedics arrived at the collision site and treated a victim in the crash. CHP officers did not have a description of the vehicle or the suspect. They also were unsure if road rage or DUI played a role in the crash.
