Clifton Vial and Vanessa Aguilar Injured in Fatal Accident on Sierra Highway [Lancaster, CA]

Three-Vehicle Accident on Sierra Highway near Avenue B Kills 1 and Injures 3

 
LANCASTER, CA (May 9, 2022) – One person died in a three-vehicle accident on Sierra Highway in Lancaster on Tuesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:03 p.m. on May 3 just south of Avenue B. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2017 Nissan Sentra was traveling northbound on Sierra Highway when it unsafely entered the southbound lane. It proceeded to overtake a 2008 Honda Pilot that was traveling directly ahead of him.
 
The Nissan then crashed head-on into a 2001 Toyota 4-Runner that was heading southbound on Sierra Highway. The impact caused both vehicles to overturn.
 
The driver of the Nissan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 29-year-old man from Inglewood.
 
Meanwhile, the Toyota 4-Runner’s driver, 62-year-old Clifton Vial of Rosamond, sustained moderate injuries, including a broken left big toe.
 
The driver of the Honda, 28-year-old Vanessa Aguilar, and her 39-year-old female passenger, both from Rosamond, also sustained moderate injuries.

At this time, CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
