Big Rig Strikes Sedan on Challenger Way in Lancaster Killing One and Injuring Five Others
LANCASTER, CA (January 3, 2024) – One person died and five others were injured in a big rig accident on Challenger Way in Lancaster Monday on December 25.
The fatal accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. at Avenue E. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Kia Sorento sedan was blocking the roadway due to a previous crash when the big rig hauling coffee struck it.
As a result of the crash, one adult was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately available.
Five other people, including two children, were hurt in the crash. The children were airlifted to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles with moderate injuries. The three adults were treated at the scene.
It was unclear what caused the crash. Further investigation is underway.
