Car Crashes into Flood Control Channel in on La Tuna Canyon Road in Tujunga Killing One

 
TUJUNGA, CA (February 27, 2023) – One person died and two other people were injured in a car accident on La Tuna Canyon Road in Tujunga Friday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:10 p.m. on February 24. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a black Mercedes carrying three men crashed into a narrow flood control channel, ejecting one of its occupants.
 
The man who was ejected from the car died at the scene.
 
The two men who survived managed to get out of the vehicle before Los Angeles Fire Department officials arrived. They suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were sent to a nearby hospital.
 
The channel was mostly dry, with about 6 inches of storm water. It was unclear whether the storm was a factor in the crash.
 
Further investigation is underway.
