RIVERSIDE, CA (January 22, 2024) — One person suffered an injury in Saturday’s fiery tanker truck accident on Streeter Avenue and Arlington Avenue.
 
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the two-vehicle crash happened around 1:00 p.m. For an unknown reason, a fuel tanker truck and a pickup truck crashed at the intersection. Shortly after, Riverside Fire arrived to find all occupants outside their respective vehicles, but the pickup truck wedged underneath the tanker trailer.
 
Due to the crash, a fire erupted but firefighters quickly extinguished it. Since the fuel tanker truck was empty, gas was not released, fortunately.
 
Following the accident, paramedics took the pickup driver to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and the tanker driver reported no wounds.
 
Authorities did not say what caused the crash, but an investigation should prove the details.
