1 Hurt After Caltrain Strikes Vehicle near Monterey Road in Santa Clara County

 
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA (April 17, 2024) — One person sustained an injury after a Caltrain hit a car near Monterey Road and San Martin Avenue.
 
According to the San Mateo County Transit District, the Caltrain crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a vehicle was stopped on the tracks. Subsequently, Caltrain 410 heading southbound and shuttling 25 passengers on board struck the vehicle.
 
Soon after, Cal Fire Santa Clara Unit responded to the scene to find a damaged Lexus sedan and one person requiring medical attention. At this time, the victim’s condition is unknown.
