Stolen Car Causes Fiery Accident after Crashing into Building on Eastside Road in Redding

 
REDDING, CA (September 20, 2021) – At least one person sustained injuries following a stolen car accident on Eastside Road, early Wednesday morning.
 
According to the Cal Fire-Shasta Trinity Unit, the incident happened on September 15, shortly after 3:00 a.m. The stolen vehicle reportedly plowed into a closed business near Weaver Commercial & Storage and Mandina’s Custom Cabinets in the 6900 block of Eastside Road.
 
The impact of the collision caused a fire that severely damaged both the vehicle and the commercial structure. As per reports, seven other vehicles also sustained damages.
 
Emergency crews transported one person to a hospital for treatment of burn injuries. Authorities did not release the name and age of the victim.
 
The California Highway Patrol and Shasta County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
