One Killed, One Injured in Head-On Crash on Santa Fe Avenue near Monte Vista Avenue [Denair, CA]

Fatal Head-On Crash Occurs on Santa Fe Avenue in Denair

 
DENAIR, CA (September 20, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a head-on crash on Santa Fe Avenue on September 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Monte Vista Avenue around 6:30 AM.
 
Based on an initial report, a Subaru SUV was traveling north on Santa Fe when it tried to pass a vehicle in front of it. Subsequently, the Subaru collided head-on with a Toyota sedan that was traveling south on the road. Then, the force pushed the Toyota backward, causing a Nissan SUV to rear-end it.
 
As a result, the driver of the Subaru sustained severe injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported him to Emanuel Medical Center, where he died. Officials only identified him as a 63-year-old Modesto man.
 
The driver of the Toyota suffered major leg injuries and was taken to the Doctors Medical Center. The driver of the Nissan, a 48-year-old Modesto resident, was not hurt in the crash.
 
At this point, officials don’t know yet if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. Also, an investigation is ongoing.
