Cameron Patterson Killed, Marcos Zuniga II Involved After Vehicle Crashes Into Canal at Herndon Avenue and Madsen Road

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 23, 2023) — Cameron Patterson died after the car he was riding in crashed into a canal at Herndon Avenue and Madsen Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident happened around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, 18-year-old Marcos Zuniga II lost control of a vehicle on a turn and crashed into Friant-Kern Canal.
 
Three teens inside the vehicle were able to free themselves from the car. However, 18-year-old Patterson was unable to. He was presumed missing throughout the night until crews located his body in the car after they pulled the vehicle from the water.
 
Only two teens reported injuries, reports confirmed.
 
At this time, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factored in the crash, but an investigation into the case should confirm more details.
