Colton Brown and Matthew Detrant Hospitalized, Car Hits Tree in Redding

 
REDDING, CA (October 3, 2022) Matthew Detrant and Colton Brown were injured after their car hit a tree on Highway 44 at the 5 Freeway connection on Saturday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the major injury accident happened around 7:35 p.m. For unknown reasons, 22-year-old Detrant made an unsafe turning movement, which caused his vehicle to career off the road and travel down a grassy embankment.
 
Subsequently, his car slammed into a tree.
 
Moments later, emergency personnel arrived and brought Detrant to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
 
In addition, they took his passenger — 22-year-old Brown of Anderson — to the same hospital with minor injuries.
 
Authorities do not suspect impairment to have caused the crash. However, an investigation into the details should explain what occurred. If anyone has more information on this single-car accident, please call the CHP.
