Police Arrest Ray Oberholzer for DUI after Crash on 101 Freeway at Castillo Street

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 12, 2022) – Police arrested Ray Timothy Oberholzer for DUI after a traffic accident in Santa Barbara early Friday morning on September 9.
 
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. on 101 Freeway at Castillo Street. According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, the 25-year-old suspect was driving a Ford sedan at a high rate of speed while exiting the southbound freeway off-ramp.
 
Oberholzer attempted to turn left onto northbound Castillo Street when he crashed into a large retaining wall.
 
Both Oberholzer and the front passenger sustained minor injuries, but the rear seat passenger was seriously injured in the crash.
 
Police determined that Oberholzer was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They arrested and booked him into Santa Barbara County Jail for felony DUI causing injury.
 
Further investigation is underway.
