OCEANO, CA (August 26, 2022) – Responders temporarily closed an intersection following a head-on accident on Highway 1 on Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 25 at about 1:20 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a black truck carrying a trailer collided with a white SUV near the intersection of Highway 1 and Halcyon Road.
 
The impact of the collision caused major damage to the vehicles. As per reports, the white SUV blocked the intersection.
 
Emergency crews closed affected areas to make way for clearing operations.
 
It is unknown whether anyone sustained injuries in the collision.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
