FRESNO, CA (August 4, 2022) — A driver was injured after a sweeper truck hit several cars on Clovis Avenue at Highway 99 on Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the seven-car crash happened Friday morning. A driver of a sweeper truck reportedly lost consciousness and fell asleep at the wheel.
 
Subsequently, the sweeper truck struck a van at the red traffic light on Clovis Avenue and Highway 99. As a result of the impact, the sweeper truck continued through and brought down some utility poles and power lines and caused several more vehicles to crash.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to the scene and paramedics brought the van driver to a hospital in unknown condition.
