2 People Hurt in Hit-and-Run Multi-Car Crash on 15 Freeway in Murrieta

 
MURRIETA, CA (August 4, 2022) — Two people suffered injuries in a hit-and-run multi-car accident on the 15 Freeway near the 215 Freeway on Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the three-vehicle crash happened on the northbound side of the 15 Freeway around 10:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a gray Toyota Camry, a semi-truck hauling a trailer and a third unidentified vehicle crashed.
 
Responding authorities found the sedan in the center divider and the semi-truck on the opposite side of the highway. As for the third vehicle, described as a dark-colored Honda, police did not spot the car anywhere.
 
Soon after, Murrieta Fire Department firefighters arrived at the scene. However, Good Samaritans had already taken two people to a nearby hospital, one of the victims was believed to be a police officer.
 
At this time, officers need the public’s help in locating and identifying the third driver involved in this hit-and-run. Therefore, anyone with information should call the CHP.
