Man Killed in Two-Car Accident on Highway 15 at Main Street [Barrio Logan, CA]

41-Year-Old Driver Dies after Colliding with Another Car and Concrete Railing on Highway 15 in Barrio Logan

 
BARRIO LOGAN, CA (March 14, 2022) – A 41-year-old man died in a two-car accident on Highway 15 in Barrio Logan on Wednesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:50 p.m. on March 9 at the Main Street off-ramp. According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was driving a silver 2007 Saturn westbound on Main Street when he came upon other vehicles stopped at a red light.
 
Instead of stopping, he drove around the other vehicles and through the red light.
 
At the same time, a 21-year-old woman driving a black 2005 Ford Focus was exiting the freeway and turning left onto Main Street. The Saturn clipped the Focus in the intersection and spun out. It then crashed into a large concrete railing.
 
As a result of the crash, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the Focus was unhurt.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
