Child, 3 Others Hurt in Multi-Car Crash on River Road in Windsor

 
WINDSOR, CA (March 8, 2022) — A child was among four people injured in a multi-car accident on River Road near Woolsey Road early Friday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle accident happened around 6:18 a.m. near Martinelli Vineyards & Winery. For unknown reasons, a driver of a Subaru carrying an 18-month-old child failed to yield behind a Chevrolet Suburban driver attempting a left turn into a driveway.
 
As a result, the Subaru driver collided with the Suburban and then struck an oncoming Sonoma County Transit bus, sending it down an embankment and overturning on its side.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded and brought four people, including an 18-month-old child in the Subaru, to a hospital with moderate injuries. Fortunately, the bus shuttled no passengers at the time of the impact.
 
At this time, detectives believe failure to yield and speed might have contributed to the accident. Although, if anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the CHP.
