Suspected Drunk Driver Moises Luna Smashes into Disabled Vehicle in Rosemead Killing Driver Miguel Garcia

 
ROSEMEAD, CA (February 9, 2022) – A man died while standing outside his disabled vehicle on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway while the driver who allegedly struck him was arrested on Sunday.
 
According to the coroner’s office, police publicly identified the victim as 31-year-old Los Angeles resident Miguel Armando Garcia.
 
The accident happened around 3:40 a.m. on February 6 just west of Walnut Grove Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, 31-year-old Moises Rivera Luna of Rosemead allegedly crashed his 2016 Ford Mustang into Garcia’s disabled vehicle.
 
Garcia died instantly, according to police reports.
 
Garcia’s vehicle then pushed into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe.
 
The motorist in the SUV suffered no injuries. However, his passenger, a 48-year-old man, was taken to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center with moderate injuries.
 
Luna suffered minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital. Soon after, Police arrested Luna on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway. As a result, police ask for any insight on the accident.
