Wrong-Way Accident on Highway 58 in Tehachapi, Eric Chambers Identified

 
TEHACHAPI, CA (February 9, 2022) – A wrong-way driver died in a wrong-way accident on Highway 58 in Tehachapi on Saturday, February 5.
 
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 24-year-old Eric Christopher Chambers of Chisago City, Minn.
 
The accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. about two miles west of the Tucker Road/Highway 202 off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, Chambers drove a pickup truck eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 58 when it crashed head-on into a semi-truck.
 
As a result, Chambers died at the scene.
 
At this time, the factors involved in the crash remain under investigation.
