64-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near Banning Boulevard in Wilmington

 
WILMINGTON, CA (December 9, 2021) – A 64-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Banning Boulevard and Anaheim Street in Wilmington area late Monday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on December 6. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man was crossing east on Banning Boulevard in an unmarked crosswalk when a vehicle struck him.
 
The driver then continued north on Banning at a high rate of speed, without rendering aid.
 
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
 
Police are still investigating the incident. They offer a reward of up to $50,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the driver’s identity, arrest and conviction.
