3 People Saved after Car Plunges off Cliff at Sunny Cove Drive

 
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA (September 20, 2021) — Three people are safe after a car crashes off a cliff at Sunny Cove Drive and Cliff Drive Friday morning.
 
According to reports, the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. at Sunny Cove Beach. For unknown reasons, a woman in a Nissan crashed through a guardrail, took out a bench and plunged off a cliff into the ocean.
 
Soon after, a surfer nearby rescued two children from the car who suffered only minor injuries.
 
As for their mother, the female driver, paramedics airlifted her to an out-of-area trauma center for treatment.
 
At this time, authorities have no confirmation on the ultimate cause of the accident. However, any witnesses with information should contact the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
