Suspected DUI Driver Nicholas Sloan Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run Outside Santa Monica Bar

 
SANTA MONICA, CA (August 8, 2021) – Police arrested Nicholas Sloan after a fatal DUI hit-and-run early Monday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:00 a.m. on August 2, in the 3100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. According to the Santa Monica Police Department, the Busby’s Bar/Restaurant staff asked the 29-year-old suspect from Culver City to leave the establishment.
 
Enraged by the demand, Sloan got into his dark-colored Porsche Panamera and tried to intentionally run over a patron near the front of the restaurant. He struck the victim and sped off.
 
Responding officers found the male victim at the scene and rushed him to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
Police was able to stop the car for speeding near Ventura Boulevard and Corbin Avenue in Tarzana. They arrested Sloan and booked him on suspicion of DUI, murder and assault with deadly weapon.
 
Sloan was held on $2 million bail.
