Police Arrest Sara Stewart after Rollover Crash in Redding that Killed 3-Year-Old Boy

 
REDDING, CA (August 8, 2021) – A 3-year-old boy died and police arrested Sara Stewart after a rollover accident on Forest Route 11 in Redding Sunday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:00 p.m. on August 1, just west of Big Bend Road. According to the Redding Highway Patrol, the 30-year-old woman was driving a Scion eastbound on Forest Route 11 when she lost control of her car.
 
Stewart made an unsafe turn coming around a curve and went over the south embankment. The car then went down the dirt embankment and rolled over multiple times.
 
The young boy, who was not yet identified, was ejected from the passenger’s seat and sustained fatal injuries due to blunt force trauma. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Stewart complained of pain in her neck and back and was transported to Mercy Hospital. She was later arrested.
 
The full circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
