Traffic Accident on Highway 101 in Los Alamos Kills Motorcycle Rider

 
LOS ALAMOS, CA (June 1, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident on Highway 101 in Los Alamos Monday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:50 p.m. on May 31, near Bell Street and Cat Canyon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a car was heading southbound on Bell after exiting Highway 101. The driver tried to flip around at a turnout on the road when the motorcyclist crashed into its driver’s side door.
 
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities did not release his name pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the two people in the car were unharmed.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
