BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 17, 2021) – A man sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Edison Highway in East Bakersfield Friday evening, May 14.
 
The accident happened around 8:45 p.m. at Chamberlain Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking in the roadway when a white Honda Civic struck him.
 
Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Civic stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the collision. An investigation is ongoing.
