Man Dies in Lancaster Pedestrian Crash on Avenue K

 
LANCASTER, CA (April 8, 2021) — A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Avenue K near Stanridge Avenue Monday afternoon.
 
According to reports, the deadly pedestrian crash happened around 4:11 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Volkswagen Jetta heading eastbound on Avenue K struck the unidentified victim. Per reports, the pedestrian was crossing southbound in the No. 1 eastbound lane when the incident occurred.
 
Soon after, the Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and provided aid. However, the victim died later at Antelope Valley Hospital.
 
At this time, detectives have ruled out speed as a factor, but have no confirmation on if DUI played a role. However, if witnesses would like to help authorities with this crash, please contact the department.
