One Sustains Major Injuries in Desert Hot Springs Pedestrian Accident on Palm Drive

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (March 24, 2021) – One person suffered major injuries after a pedestrian accident on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs Friday evening, March 19.
 
The Desert Hot Springs Police Department responded to the scene around 9:06 p.m. between Buena Vista and Cahuilla avenues.
 
The driver of the Toyota RAV4 was heading southbound on Palm Drive and did not see the pedestrian who was walking in the middle of the roadway near Buena Vista Avenue, police said.
 
The SUV then hit the pedestrian causing them major injuries. Paramedics took the victim, a 39-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident, to Desert Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition.
 
Police said the driver, a 64-year-old Palm Springs resident, stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The accident is still under investigation. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact Officer Chris James at (760) 329-6411 ext. 351 or, for anonymous tips, call Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-STOP.
