Authorities Investigate Possible DUI after Crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Topanga Beach

TOPANGA BEACH, CA (March 12, 2021) – A driver sustained injuries in a suspected DUI accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Topanga Beach Thursday night, March 4.

Around 8:30 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a call of a collision at Topanga Canyon Boulevard intersection.

CHP officials said a dark-green older model Chevrolet Camaro hit a truck parked along the roadway. The impact propelled the car into the sand. It then came to rest in coastal brush on a beachside bluff, with its headlights pointing down into the sand.

A tow truck was used to hoist the vehicle from the beach. A Ford SUV was also at the scene with heavy damage to its back end.

The Camaro driver sustained slight injuries from the crash. Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment and to check for a possible DUI.

The incident remains under investigation, and no further details were available at this time.

Driving while impaired puts the driver, passengers, and others who share the road at serious risk. Be a responsible driver. Only get behind the wheel when you are alert and sober.
