Car and Train Involved in Fatal Accident on Yosemite Boulevard in Empire

 
EMPIRE, CA (March 10, 2021) – Police confirmed that one man died in a train accident on Yosemite Boulevard on March 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue.
 
Based on a report, the victim’s silver GMC SUV was travelling west on Yosemite at the time of the crash. Then, it stopped on the tracks after the crossing arms began to come down. Due to unknown reasons, a northbound train then broadsided the vehicle.
 
As a result, the man was seriously hurt in the incident. Officials identified him as an Empire resident in his 60s. A few hours later, Clint Bray, battalion chief for the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District, confirmed the man had died.
 
As of now, this train accident on Yosemite Boulevard is still under investigation.
