Fatal Amazon Truck Accident on Van Buren Boulevard in Jurupa Valley

 
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (March 4, 2021) – Two women died in an Amazon truck accident at Van Buren Boulevard and 56th Street.
 
The accident happened just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, February 27. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Amazon delivery truck was heading south on Van Buren Boulevard near the 56th Street intersection. For unknown reasons, it struck a sheriff’s patrol vehicle that had responded to a non-injury crash.
 
Two sheriff’s personnel were standing by the scene along with the two female drivers involved in the initial crash.
 
The patrol vehicle was unoccupied when the Amazon truck hit it, but the impact pushed it far enough, striking all four people in the crash site.
 
As a result, the two civilians suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Officials have not yet released their identities.
 
The two sheriff’s personnel suffered major injuries. They were taken to Riverside Community Hospital for proper treatment.
 
The driver of the Amazon truck was transported to a hospital complaining of pain.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
