Fatal Pedestrian Accident Occurs on 10 Freeway in Thousand Palms
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (March 3, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway westbound on the afternoon of March 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened at Bob Hope Drive at 3:10 PM.
Based on a report, the pedestrian reportedly jumped into the path of a garbage truck in the slow lane. At that point, the truck was not able to stop on time. Subsequently, it struck the pedestrian.
As a result, first responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. Officials did not immediately release his identity pending kin notification.
The crash affected the westbound traffic on the freeway. As of now, no other details about this pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway are available. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
