Woman Swimming Hit, Injured by Boat in Lake Berryessa in Napa County

 
NAPA COUNTY, CA (June 20, 2022) — A woman swimming was hit and injured by a boat in Lake Berryessa in Napa County Lake on Friday afternoon.
 
According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. in a remote part of Napa County Lake. A woman, believed to be in her 30s, was swimming when a 40-foot double-footer pontoon boat struck the woman with its propeller.
 
Soon after the accident, First Responders arrived and applied a life-saving tourniquet to both her legs before moving her across the cove to a Napa County Sheriff’s boat.
 
Subsequently, a California Highway Patrol helicopter landed and airlifted her to a Kaiser Vacaville hospital to a trauma team.
 
At this time, the leading cause of the crash needs more investigating. However, investigators have ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible sources. If anyone would like to help the CHP, please call the department.
