BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 20, 2022) – A man was severely injured in a pedestrian accident at East Truxtun Avenue and Baker Street on Thursday.
 
The accident happened just before 10:30 p.m. on June 16. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing southbound against a red light when a vehicle struck him.
 
When officers arrived, they found the man lying in the roadway with major injuries. Paramedics took the man to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
 
The involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
