Van Strikes Pole on 15 Freeway in Cajon Pass Injuring Several People

 
CAJON PASS, CA (December 5, 2023) – A woman was seriously injured in a traffic accident on 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass Sunday afternoon on December 3.
 
Around 3:44 p.m., a silver van towing a trailer was traveling southbound on the freeway when it struck a pole at the Cajon Scales. The impact caused significant damage to the van, leaving it in a mangled state.
 
Several people were injured and a woman was trapped in the wreckage.
 
Responding firefighters worked to free the woman and requested additional equipment to help stabilize the vehicle. After extrication, a helicopter took the woman to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
A second vehicle, a blue Prius was involved in the crash and was located in the center divider. No one was injured in that car.
 
At this time, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
