Pedestrian Sustains Brain Injury, Broken Ribs and Pelvis after Hit by Pickup Truck on Camino Ruiz in Mira Mesa

 
MIRA MESA, CA (April 28, 2023) – A woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident at Camino Ruiz and Westmore Road in Mira Mesa on Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. on April 26. According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman in her 60s was crossing the intersection in a crosswalk when the 2015 Toyota Tacoma struck her.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital for treatment of extensive trauma, including a serious brain injury and fractures to her skull, ribs and pelvis.
 
The unidentified victim is not expected survive her injuries, police said.
 
Intoxication was not a factor in the accident, according to police. Further investigation is underway.
