Woman Riding Bicycle, Struck, Injured by Train on Ninos Drive in Santa Barbara

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (March 6, 2023) — A woman riding a bike was hit and injured by a train on Ninos Drive near Corona Del Mar.
 
According to reports, the bicycle accident happened around 6:15 p.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a woman was riding a bike adjacent to the train tracks near the Santa Barbara Zoo. Subsequently, an oncoming Amtrak train whose conductor reportedly applied the emergency brakes and sounded the horn, struck the bicyclist. As a result, the female victim suffered moderate injuries to her upper extremity and was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for care.
 
There were no other victims involved, but more information on this crash will be available once we receive additional information.
