Two Vehicles Collide on 805 Freeway in Chula Vista Killing One Passenger

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (May 30, 2023) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on 805 Freeway in Chula Vista late Saturday evening on May 27.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:20 p.m. near Telegraph Canyon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 38-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet SUV southbound on the freeway when she veered and crashed with a Toyota pickup truck in the right lane north of Telegraph Canyon Road.
 
Both vehicles then rolled over from the impact.
 
The female passenger in the Chevrolet was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Authorities said she was 42-year-old Oklahoma resident.
 
Paramedics took the driver of the Chevrolet to a local hospital who suffered a possible broken back.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota, an 18-year-old woman, was unharmed.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
