Woman Dies in Kern County Two-Car Crash on Buena Vista Road

KERN COUNTY, CA (November 30, 2021) — A woman died in a two-car accident on Buena Vista Road at Taft Highway on Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car crash occurred around 7:43 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 22-year-old woman in a 2018 Honda Civic ran through a stop sign while heading southbound on Buena Vista Road. Subsequently, her Honda broadsided a 2016 Scion at the Taft Highway intersection, causing her Honda to overturn.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, the 22-year-old driver of the Honda died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics brought the Scion driver to Kern Medical with minor injuries.
 
At this time, officers have not confirmed if DUI played a role. However, any witnesses with information on this two-car accident should contact the authorities.
