Morning Traffic Accident on 101 Freeway in Mountain View Kills Sunnyvale Woman

 
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (May 15, 2023) – A woman was killed in a traffic accident on 101 Freeway in Mountain View Saturday morning on May 13.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:45 a.m. at the Moffett Boulevard off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a white Nissan Rogue northbound on the freeway when she lost control for unknown reasons.
 
The Nissan then veered to the right, hit the barrier, bounced back onto the freeway and hit the center divider. It then flew back across the freeway and crashed into a tree. Another vehicle was also reportedly involved.
 
First responders rushed the woman to a hospital, but she died while in transit.
 
Authorities only identified the victim as a 65-year-old Sunnyvale resident.
 
The CHP is looking for witnesses to aid in the investigation. Anyone who was in the area and saw what happened is asked to call the CHP at 650-779-2700.
