Wrong-Way Driver Causes BMW to Overturn in Long Beach Killing One Passenger

 
LONG BEACH, CA (May 15, 2023) – Geronimo Reynaga was killed in a rollover crash in Long Beach early Saturday morning on May 13.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 2:25 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near the 103 Freeway. According to the Long Beach Police Department, an 18-year-old Wilmington man was driving a 2021 BMW westbound in the eastbound lanes when he struck the south curb and a raised center median.
 
The car then veered off the street, became airborne and rolled over.
 
Reynaga, a rear passenger, was ejected from the car. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was also an 18-year-old Wilmington resident.
 
The driver and a front-seat passenger were rushed to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Police said impaired driving and speed were being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
