Big Rig Fatally Strikes Pedestrian on Highway 101 in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 15, 2023) – One person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in San Jose late Saturday evening on May 13.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:45 p.m. at the Tully Road on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white big rig struck the pedestrian in the northbound lanes of the highway.
 
San Jose Fire Department crews responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The driver of the big rig stopped and cooperated with authorities.
 
An investigation into this fatality is underway.
