Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Reversing Vehicle on West Vine Avenue in Visalia

 
VISALIA, CA (January 4, 2024) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on West Vine Avenue in Visalia Tuesday morning on December 26.
 
According to the Visalia Police Department, a vehicle was reversing over the sidewalk when it unintentionally struck the female pedestrian crossing its path in the 3900 block of West Vine Avenue.
 
Paramedics arrived and rushed the pedestrian to a hospital.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman did not survive and was declared dead. Her identity was not immediately available.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash. The Visalia Police Department Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
