Pedestrian Dies after Struck by SUV on Lawrence Expressway in Santa Clara

 
SANTA CLARA, CA (August 9, 2023) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Lawrence Expressway in Santa Clara early Sunday morning on August 6.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 1:30 a.m. near Monroe Street. According to the Santa Clara Police Department, the female pedestrian was walking on Monroe Street in a crosswalk when a Honda SUV struck her.
 
The impact caused the woman fatal injuries and she died at the scene. Police only described her as someone between 25 to 35 years old, average weight and height, had brown hair, blue eyes and several tattoos. She was either white or Hispanic.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police. He was a 49-year-old Campbell man.
 
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
