Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Car on Highway 99 in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 15, 2022) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 in Bakersfield late Tuesday evening, September 13.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:00 p.m. near the Rosedale Highway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was trying to cross the highway when a Subaru struck her.
 
The CHP also stated that the driver was unable to take evasive action at the time.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
Alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
