Hitchhiker Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Highway 241 in Santa Ana

 
SANTA ANA, CA (March 8, 2022) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 241 in Santa Ana on Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened just after 9:00 p.m. on March 6 at Santiago Canyon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was hitchhiking in the middle lanes of the highway when a vehicle struck her.
 
When officers arrived, they found the woman suffering from fatal injuries. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
The woman’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
It is unclear if the involved driver has stayed after the crash. At this time, this fatality is still under investigation.
