Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 166 in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 8, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 166 near the 5 Freeway early Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian crash happened around 2:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a 2016 Kia struck a 64-year-old man walking on Highway 166.
 
Shortly after, CHP officers arrived to find a man dead in the road and the driver pulled over at the scene.
 
At this time, CHP officers have not confirmed if DUI played a factor in the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the outstanding details.
