33-Year-Old Woman Dies in Early Morning Pedestrian Accident on Airport Drive

 
OILDALE, CA (July 6, 2021) – A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Airport Drive at Castaic Avenue early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. on July 3, near Meadows Field Airport. CHP officials said the 33-year-old woman was crossing westbound when a Volkswagen struck her. They added that the woman walked directly into the path of the passing Volkswagen.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim once it is confirmed and family members are notified.
 
The driver of the Volkswagen stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Investigators suspect the woman was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
