Car Accident on 22 Freeway in Garden Grove Ends in Fatality

 
GARDEN GROVE, CA (July 6, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a traffic accident on 22 Freeway at Knott Avenue early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on July 4. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white sedan was traveling westbound on the freeway when crashed into the center divider for unknown reasons.
 
The impact killed at least one of the occupants. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Garden Grove and Westminster police were searching the area for a woman who was missing from the crash, the reports said.
 
The crash temporarily closed all westbound lanes of the freeway, diverting traffic off at Knott Avenue. All lanes were reopened roughly around 4:11 a.m.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
